Syntex has been a long standing member of the National Safety Council (NSC), a nonprofit, non-governmental, international public service organization dedicated to protecting life and promoting health. Founded in 1913 and chartered by the U.S. Congress in 1953, the NSC’s mission is to educate, protect, and influence society to adopt safety practices that prevent and mitigate human suffering and economic losses at work, in our homes and communities and on our roads and highways.
Through our membership, we obtain a better understanding of practical solutions to the safety challenges faced by various industries everyday. This valuable information, resources and programs can help us better serve our customers and help these organizations to lower risk, prevent loss and raise quality at a global scale.
VPPA– Voluntary Protection Programs Participants Association

Syntex is a proud member of the Voluntary Protection Programs Participants' Association (VPPPA), a nonprofit 501(c)(3) charitable organization, is a leader in safety, health and environmental excellence through cooperative efforts among labor, management and government.
As part of its efforts to share the benefits of cooperative programs, the VPPPA works closely with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), OSHA state-plan-states, the Department of Energy (DOE) and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in the development and implementation of cooperative programs within the agencies. The Association provides expertise to these groups in the form of comments and stakeholder feedback on agency rulemakings and policies. The VPPPA also offers comments and testimony to members of Congress regarding legislation on safety and health issues.
VPPPA members include over 1,000 companies and worksites that are involved in or in the process of applying to OSHA's or DOE's Voluntary Protection Programs (VPP) and government agencies that are developing or implementing cooperative recognition program.

Syntex is proud to be a member of the Steering Committee for the Mary Kay O'Connor Process Safety Center. The Center is instrumental in conducting programs and research activities that enhance safety in the chemical process industries. The Center’s educational activities promote safety as second nature to everyone in the industry. In addition, the Center develops safer processes, equipment, procedures and management strategies to minimize losses within the processing industry.
