Syntex Management Systems was founded in 1995 to answer a growing need for Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) software solutions. This software would maximize the power of enterprise computing to help organizational leaders to continually discover and address workplace dangers and system weaknesses. The result: a continuous reduction of accidents, injuries, spillages, outages and other losses in the workplace.
Syntex named its original software product IMPACT Safety. Original customers included Koch Industries and Citgo.
By 1999, the product evolved into Syntex IMPACT Enterprise® ERM solution, as it grew to address problems across the enterprise. Such problems now include environmental compliance, asset protection, OSHA and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance and other QHSE (Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental) issues.
Many current Syntex customers are in industries such energy, refining, chemical and process manufacturing. But Syntex also serves a much broader cross-section of industries. By 2005, Syntex IMPACT Enterprise had been licensed by more than 100 companies that have made reducing exposure to risk and loss-related costs a strategic business goal.
